This is what the new Peugeot 4008 could look like

( – peugeot I’ve been thinking about the SUV revolution for a while. What used to be a niche for German premium producers is now an area where other producers also operate. Like for example Renault and his arcana.

Offers Peugeot 4008

4008 (sometimes referred to as 408 Crossover) will compete against Arkana. And just days after seeing a heavily disguised prototype, our in-house artist brings us a life-like rendering of what the company’s future SUV competition could look like.

It’s hard to say what the model’s name will be as the 4008 and 408 have been used in the past, the old version of Peugeot’s Mitsubishi ASXthe latter for bootlid 308 in certain markets such as China.

The design of the Peugeot 4008 takes many compact features 308. Starting with the front end, which should be very similar to the wide and imposing grille. The new brand logo will be in the center and return the chrome dots.

The bonnet should be that of the 308. To distinguish itself from the 308, the 4008 can show even brighter LED daytime running light teeth. To go in this direction, the front side air intake should be slightly larger than in a compact car. Finally, black side skirts will appear to add to the SUV feel.

Our offering includes exterior mirrors and door handles for Citroen C5 X. As in the Erlkönig pictures, black rims can be used here. Like and Citroën our photo shows the same rise in the body line at the level of the rear fenders that can be seen in the photos of the hidden model. However, the profile differs in terms of the C-pillar and the style of the rear roof. There is no glass “floating” the C-pillar, but instead a prominent curve that creates a sharp edge on the body.

The Peugeot 4008 is likely to inherit the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) configuration of the electrified 308. If so, the SUV coupe is likely to have a power output of 225 hp, a 12.4 kWh battery, an eight-speed automatic transmission, an 81 kW electric motor and front-wheel drive.

Now we will have to wait a little longer before we know more. The car, manufactured at the Mulhouse plant, is expected to be one of the stars of the 2022 Paris Motor Show from October 17 to 23. Sales could start before the end of 2022 and the cars will be on the road from early 2023.
