Mercedes-Benz EQS large electric sedan gets upgrades | Demonstrations

The large electric sedan Mercedes-Benz EQS enjoys a comprehensive set of updates.

The electric flag Mercedes-Benz is equipped with a grille and chrome inserts, the standard finish of the Electric Art Line. Fluttering chrome slats create a contrast to the stark black. The grille is associated with the star on the Mercedes-Benz hood.

The attention to detail is reflected in the car’s interior. The ventilation nozzles on the B-pillars are in a silver chrome tone. Additional cushioning at the back is reinforced with Nappa leather piping.

The EQS with the Rear Comfort Pack Plus option and the performance seats have a footrest directed to the right of the rear. Placed between the rails of the front seat, it significantly increases the comfort of the rear passengers, who can place their legs at an angle. Another convenience of the Rear Comfort Pack Plus is that the passenger seat can be folded forward and the backrest can be adjusted up to 38 degrees. This saves space. Optional equipment also includes seat heating Plus and neck and shoulder heating in the back, as well as depth adjustment of the seat pneumatics.

The seat back angle can be adjusted from 27 to 36 degrees at the touch of a button. The laminated look of the seat covers emphasizes the individual character of the seats. An extra five millimeters of foam on the rear backrest and a separate cover from the side support ensure a comfortable seating position.

Work “Automatic Route Change” (ALC) is set at the factory. Automatic lane change is used on structurally separated two-lane highways, with a specific speed limit not exceeding 140 km/h.

The automatic route change it is part of Distronic Active Distance Assist with Active Steering Assist. If a slow car is ahead, the car can initiate a lane change by itself within a speed of 80-140 km/h. If the radar detects enough space and lane markings are detected, it can overtake a slower car directly in front of it. The prerequisites are a road with at least two lanes with a speed limit and a vehicle with the MBUX navigation system. The system does not require any further intervention from the driver to make automatic lane changes.

The EQS was already one of the long-range electric cars. Thanks to the increased capacity battery from 108.4 to 118 kWh, Mercedes-Benz’s electric flagship offers up to 81 km more range. The maximum range of the EQS 450 4Matic increases from 717 to 798 km. This means an increase in autonomy of more than 11%.

The towing capacity of the EQS sedan increases from 750 to 1,700 kg (for 4MATIC versions), a level suitable for towing a horse trailer.

Another technical improvement: Due to the high level of recovery in daily use, the brake discs are used less often than the combustion model. A special function will maintain the brake system by applying direct cleaning to the disc from time to time.
