This electric car from Lotus will come to the Netherlands soon

Thought the electric SUV from Lotus was going too far, but would you like to drive an electric car from the famous brand? Emeya is your new favorite car. It goes on sale after the summer with a starting price of less than 110,000 euros.

If you want a little bit of anticipation, you can now find your perfect one online at the configurator Tunga Emeya. My best Emeya R came for €175,000. But then you also have the R version with the two most important upgrades: the KEF audio package and the tow bar.

The car charges very quickly: 18 minutes to go from 10 to 80 percent. That’s like having to pee and wonder at the gas pump if you’re looking for peanuts or chocolate. The WLTP range is 610 km. In layman’s terms, this means you can drive really fast for two hours, then eat/drink/pee and the car fills up again before you finish. If the charger doesn’t work, just skip the station.

Great expectations

The Lotus Eletre already worked well (see our video) and that was the size of a school bus. The Emeya sits much lower on the road and has much of the same technology. So there are great expectations. Active aerodynamics, 905 hp underfoot in the fastest version, a battery capable of withstanding track use, carbon ceramic brake discs and an electronically controlled air suspension system. The Porsche Taycan will have a lot of competition with this car.

It must be said that Emeya is the biggest. The advantage is that you should be able to seat four adults comfortably and that you can take no less than 509 liters of luggage with you. The Emeya will probably move more towards the Grand Tourer than the Taycan.

How much does that cost?

Prices are as follows: Emeya, from €109,685. Emeya S, the extra luxuriously equipped version of the Hyper-GT, from € 130,585. Emeya R, top model, from €155,025. We hope to be able to test drive the car later this year.
