This Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania Is Getting a $125-million Redesign and an Even Bigger Water Park

A Pennsylvania mountain resort is set to undergo a $125-million redesign, which will feature an expanded water park, additional lodging, and a variety of other amenities.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area’s Camelback Mountain Resort is set to receive a cutting-edge makeover, with the construction of a new, multi-million-dollar water park, and the addition of multiple lodging options, including luxury-style suites, villas, and cabins.

The park’s new water park, dubbed “Big Pocono,” will span an impressive 70-acres, and will feature multiple attractions, such as a wave pool, lazy river, and a variety of slides. In addition, the park will also boast a ropes course, rock climbing wall, zip line, and a “dueling” water coaster.

The resort is also planning to construct several new lodging options, ranging from luxury-style suites to villas and cabins, some of which will overlook the park’s attractions. Additionally, the resort will also feature a variety of dining establishments, a spa and wellness center, and a state-of-the-art conference center.

Camelback Mountain Resort officials are hopeful that the resort’s $125-million redesign will attract more visitors from the area, as well as from out of state. The park is slated to open in the summer of 2021, and will serve as a major vacation destination for families and tourists alike.

The expansive redesign of Camelback Mountain Resort is one of the largest investments the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area has seen in years, and is expected to bring a considerable economic boost to the region. The park’s new and improved amenities are sure to attract visitors from near and far, and will undoubtedly become a popular destination for travelers of all ages.
