A fatal accident occurred on the Ringlaan road in Lichtervelde in Belgium on Saturday. The driver failed to control the steering wheel of his Maserati car, after which the occupants were thrown from the car. The three residents were killed.
The fatal accident happened at 9.15 in the afternoon on the Ringlaan road in Lichtervelde near Ghent. The driver left Kortemark in a Maserati and headed for the E403.
The driver suddenly lost control of the wheel. The car hit the station conductor and flew two hundred meters on the other side of the road to a tree. The impact broke the car in half.
Three people inside the car were thrown from the car and killed. It is about two Polish brothers aged 22 and 28, who worked as migrant workers in the construction industry. The driver was probably their 33-year-old Polish national and employer, who lived in Meulebeke.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, the cause of the accident was ‘excessive speed’.
