At least one person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in Anne Arundel County, according to authorities.
The Maryland State Police on Sunday said that the crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. that morning on southbound Interstate 97, south of Route 3.
The collision involved a Honda HR-V, a Ford F-150 pickup truck and a Ford F-550 box truck.
The driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were hospitalized with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The drivers of the pickup and the box truck were both unharmed.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team is investigating the incident and has not yet identified any contributing factors.
Motorists are urged to remain vigilant and exercise caution while traveling in the area, as the crash scene has been closed to traffic while the investigation is ongoing.
