German automaker Opel today announced a series of major developments in the field of electric mobility, according to a press release issued by the company. At the Munich Motor Show 2023, also known as IAA Mobility, which will take place from September 5 to 10, Opel will present three world premieres…
The second main novel will be the introduction of the Electric Opel Astra Sports Tourer. This all-electric version of the compact model adds an ‘attractive’ and eco-friendly option to the existing Astra range. By combining the Sports Tourer’s performance with electric drive, Opel appears to be trying to appeal to environmentally conscious buyers who don’t want to compromise on comfort and space.
Finally, the third major launch will be that of the new Opel Corsa Electric. The Corsa is already a popular car in Germany, having been the country’s best-selling city car for the past two years. This new electric version promises to be more efficient and more powerful, with greater freedom than its predecessors. This update could consolidate the Corsa’s position as the market leader among city cars in Germany.
Opel CEO Florian Huettl said that many of the brand’s models are already connected, adding that their goal is to make e-mobility accessible to everyone. Opel has also confirmed its commitment to become a 100% electric brand in Europe from 2028.
