Japanese GP in live ticker: Hunt for pole in Suzuka / Formula 1

Max Verstappen is chasing his fifth consecutive Formula 1 pole at the traditional Suzuka Circuit. The starting position on the hard Japanese track is important for good results.

Many Formula 1 fans say that a place on the front row of the Monaco GP is almost a guarantee that you will later be on the winner’s podium. But who would have thought that starting position at Suzuka was more important?

A look at the statistics shows: 28 of the 33 Formula 1 World Championship races at the Suzuka Circuit were won by drivers who started from the front row. The winner started from pole 17 times and from second place on the grid 11 times.

Max Verstappen is chasing his fifth consecutive place on April 6 (after Abu Dhabi in 2023 and Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia in 2024). To see if the Red Bull Racing star gets the best starting position, fans should get out of bed early.

Third free practice at 4:30am European time, qualifying at 8:00am. For Sunday’s race, the drivers started the preparation journey at 7:00 am.

We’ll be broadcasting live from Suzuka for you before qualifying on Saturday, April 6, from 7:45am, and for the race on April 7 from 6:15am – and of course we’ve also rounded up the most important dates. from television stations here as a service.
