Citroen C3 Aircross: seven-seater electric with lots of storage space

The new Citroen C3 Aircross offers plenty of room for its occupants in a manageable space. The customer can choose whether up to seven occupants will travel with electricity or with a combustion engine. The Citroen C3 Aircross was introduced to the Indian market last spring. Now the European version follows. It is also electric only.

A lot of car for a little money and a lot of space for up to seven people in a very price-sensitive market, so it was in India. The features remain the same in the European version, because although the C3 Aircross is only 4.39 meters long, it can carry up to seven people in its interior if it wants to. The rustic, slightly angular exterior design is attractive as is the interior with lots of shelving in the front and rear. Four large doors, a long wheelbase and a contrasting roof are amazing. The C3 Aircross rolls on large wheels with a diameter of 69 centimeters.

The interested side has the freedom to choose how the French should be driven. Like the other vehicles on the flexible Stellantis platform, the Citroën C3 Aircross is also available with a 1.2 liter petrol engine as a base version. In addition, there is also a hybrid version and an electric-only model, similar to models such as the Opel Frontera, Peugeot 2008 or Lancia Ypsilon. The compact B-SUV segment is more important than ever; Sales of entry-level SUVs in Europe have outnumbered conventional B-segment small cars since 2020.

The electric C3 Aircross is powered by a 115 kW / 156 hp electric motor on the front axle, which provides a range of around 400 km thanks to a 54 kWh battery pack. Despite the rustic design, four-wheel drive is not available. As with other models on this Stellantis platform, there is a problem with the charging speed, which is only 100 kW. This means that it takes 30 minutes for a small battery pack to charge up to 80 percent. Its typical consumption should be around 15 kWh / 100 km. In the hybrid version without the plug-in module, the 1.2-liter cylinder with 100 kW / 136 hp is supported by a 48-volt electrical system driving a 21-kilowatt electric motor.
