To the editor: Toledo is my favorite Ohio destination

As an Ohioan, I am often asked to name my favorite destination in the state. Without hesitation, I always respond Toledo. As a city boasting a diverse range of attractions and activities, Toledo continues to captivate me with its beauteous natural vistas and its vibrant cultural scene.

This is especially evident in the city’s numerous parks and outdoor recreational areas. The Metroparks of the Toledo Area is a vast system of parks and trails with something for everyone. From the bucolic Swan Creek Preserve Metropark to the stunning natural beauty of Wildwood Preserve, each Metropark provides a unique outdoor experience. Whether you are looking to enjoy a picnic, take a leisurely stroll, or engage in more strenuous activities, Toledo’s Metroparks offer a wealth of opportunities.

In addition to its stunning natural beauty, Toledo is a city steeped in history and culture. The city’s many museums and galleries celebrate Toledo’s rich history, including the Toledo Museum of Art and the Toledo Firefighters Museum. The Toledo Zoo is also a popular destination, featuring captivating animal exhibits and exciting educational programs.
