Cupra Born has dropped below 40,000 euros after undergoing a modification of its kind!

Cupra is undertaking a complete overhaul of its electric model range, the Born. This is available with one power level and two different batteries, providing up to 550 kilometers of autonomy in the WLTP cycle. He also sees his prices falling below the symbolic threshold of 40,000 euros.

A price war is currently underway in the electric car segment. Tesla has cut the prices of its entry-level models several times, as has Renault recently. These upheavals are also taking place at Volkswagen, as the German brand has reorganized its range of identities. Today, another brand in the group is reducing the price of one of its cars, this time in the Cupra. La Born is entitled to a revised, more simplified and above all cheaper range.

The Born range is now built around a single version, which is 230 horsepower. This can be equipped with two different batteries: the first of 58 kWh, called L, offers up to 422 kilometers of range. The second 77 kWh, called XL, allows a WLTP range of 550 km.

Unbeatable price / freedom ratio?

Cupra therefore reduces the price, which is therefore below 40,000 euros. The version with a smaller battery is therefore priced at 39,090 euros, compared to 39,990 euros for the XL version. Very strong prices, which also allow the car to remain eligible for an ecological bonus that can reach 7,000 euros for the most common buyers. So Born’s bill could drop to 32,090 euros, which puts it in a good position in the market. Note that it is also one of the models from the Volkswagen group that was part of the social leasing system, and the monthly payment was set at 109 euros. Unfortunately, we learned yesterday that the government is ending this financial support, at least for now.

Prices do not take into account the ecological bonus

Faced with this price drop, one might think that Cupra has sacrificed materials, but this is not the case. The Born is equipped, among other things, with 19-inch rims, front and rear LED lights and a reversing camera. Prices have already been updated on the brand’s website, as well as in sales.
