Revolution in Formula 1: Ferrari is no longer Ferrari – and drives in blue!

Now there is a historic change in Formula 1. The car manufacturer Scuderia Ferrari or better known as Ferrari has been driving under this name for 74 years. But now it is being extended – because of a big plan. And suddenly the color blue appears.

In the future, Charles Leclerc’s racing team will be called Scuderia Ferrari HP. American technology company Hewlett Packard has joined the Italians “for several years,” it is said. Ferrari reportedly received $90 to $100 million for this.

Women’s teams and sports teams are also affected by the name change.

“Our founder passed on to us his constant desire for development. This leads to our pursuit of innovation on and off the road, as well as our commitment to a sustainable future, from carbon neutrality to educating the new generation,” says Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna. In HP, the team found a partner who represents the same values.

In Miami with a new sponsor in blue

The blue logo will appear on cars and clothes from the Grand Prix in Miami from May 3 to 5. Since 2021, Ferrari has been running without a title sponsor.

However, there are also other changes: the team has not worn red for the first time since 1964. The reason for this is not related to the new HP plan. This is meant to celebrate the 70th anniversary in North America. The first Formula 1 world champion, Alberto Ascari, who wore a blue suit and blue helmet when winning the title, will also be honored.

A possible reason for the HP deal could also be the signing of Lewis Hamilton. The 39-year-old is moving from Mercedes to Ferrari. Money from the program can help fund it. Due to obligations, Carlos Sainz must leave Ferrari.
