The 184-horsepower hybrid with a two-liter gasoline engine is in a completely different league than the “small” hybrid installed in this model – if the dealer likes you, when asked about the Corolla in a hybrid, he will probably recommend an extra. payment for version 2.0, regardless of the intended use of the vehicle. But an important note: this car, especially: the version of this car, should not be selected from the list. This car is worth seeing up close or getting to know it in a different way and then choosing it, so you won’t be disappointed.

It is definitely a car for one or a couple, children (well, unless they are very small – more on that later) is a contraindication in the case of the Corolla 2.0 Hybrid hatchback. So if you are single and you like good finishes, modern cars and a quasi-sporty, light design (you must like nice things, otherwise it will be difficult for you to get a lot of money for this car) – this is the car for you. However, it is not a family car – definitely not! If you’re looking for a family compact and it’s going to be a hybrid Corolla, consider a station wagon or sedan.

It is a modern compact, neat and very respectable finish. Until recently, one can say that it is a solid car, but in terms of ergonomics and ease of use, it is clearly inferior to European, especially German competitors, for example under the VW brand. Now it’s outdated, because the Germans have redesigned the user interface a little, and the Japanese simplified it a little – and there is no big difference. Of course, when you say Corolla, you mean “hybrid”, and you mainly expect good performance and low fuel consumption. Yes, in the case of the described example, you can count on it.

Here we come to the answer to the question why it is not a family car: first of all, because it has a small leg room in the back, you can even say that the seats in the back seat are storage seats. And the trunk is small, especially small in the Hybrid 2.0 version – it is only 313 liters. Yes, you can take this car with your family out of town, but you will always be confused: what to take to fit?

So if you need a family car and you’re considering a Corolla, the good news is that the sedan and station wagon have, firstly, a very wide wheelbase and, secondly, widened rear ends. So if you need more space in the back and a big trunk – that will give you a sedan, and a station wagon – even more.

In terms of transparency, the cockpit is at least correct. When it comes to operation, we have here a clash of two “currency systems”: some functions are activated via the touch screen, which, along with multimedia functions, also acts as a user interface, and some things (eg heating the steering wheel. ) activated by the large classic buttons on the left side of the dashboard. On the other hand, the virtual cockpit is well controlled by the buttons on the steering wheel. What I don’t like is the piano black painted center tunnel – it’s only good when it’s fresh and new. In the GR Sport version we also have a phone charging plate (next to it on the dashboard there is also a USB socket – you can connect a phone here and use, for example, Android Auto. The seats are very accurate and completely resistant to damage. like that.

As in the introduction: although the Corolla 2.0 Hybrid has an e-CVT transmission, this generation of Toyota’s hybrid car no longer starts with a high-pitched screech: it accelerates efficiently, so it takes less time; in fact, in the city they sometimes drive more than half the time in a “self-loading” electric car.

Fuel consumption is quite stable: in the city, 5.4-5.5 l / 100 km is enough – a good result! It looks fine on not too fast urban roads. At road speed, fuel consumption increases significantly, even up to 7.5 l / 100 km (assuming we follow the legal speed limits). All in all, we can enjoy an impressive range and low fuel consumption.

It’s not a game – just normal. It is fuel efficient, fast and easy to drive. In city traffic Corolla is very quiet, at high speeds the noise level can be considered moderate. What you might like is the incredible smoothness with which the drive works: yes, sometimes you can hear the combustion engine starting, but you can’t feel it this time. As with the continuously variable e-CVT, well – never will the dual-clutch transmission be smoother and smoother, won’t it! The GR Sport version with the optional AVS (Active Suspension) package is pleasant, not overly exciting. A little note: The Active Suspension Package is only available on the GR Sport version, but – surprisingly – it’s not standard equipment. Buying a Corolla GR Sport without this kit – misses the point. So: we add PLN 6,900 to this package to the base price of PLN 134,900. The GR Sport version has a nice paint job and a black roof for the hood at no extra charge.

I knew that this car is very small in the rear, but it is – I did not expect it! So it’s a good car for a single person or a couple who are thinking about children in the future, but for now it’s a bit lazy. As for the GR Sport version, its choice is a matter of taste and price – if the amount requested for the car does not scare someone, why not!
