Dutch Toyota GR Yaris price increased by 50%

Dutch Toyota GR Yaris price increased by 50%

At the risk of sounding like a boomer who still quotes prices in guilders for everything, we can’t resist talking about old prices. Four years ago, Toyota announced that the price of the GR Yaris was actually lower and that you could take the hot hatchback home for 50,995 euros. Back then, it was already ridiculous money for a Yaris, but not for a rally car around.

Now we are in a crisis, an increase in BPM, a change in the law as well as another inflation bomb, and Toyota has now announced the Dutch price of the updated GR Yaris. Just sit for a while. The Dutch price of the new Toyota GR Yaris is now minimum of 81,795 euros. So you are right about the Performance version, which cost 52,995 euros four years ago. This makes the GR Yaris 50 percent more expensive than before.

The Dutch price of the GR Yaris could be higher

For the first time, the GR Yaris is available with a manual gearbox, which will cost you at least 94,295 euros. If you want the Premium version with bigger rims, more safety systems and a JBL sound system, you will spend 85,795 or 98,295 euros. The final price is for the machine. Then you pay a ton for a Toyota Yaris. Dutch prices for the special editions are not yet known. In the UK, the special edition costs about 18,000 euros extra, so that gives you an idea of the extra cost.

If you park an old GR Yaris next to a new one, there is a difference. The updated version gets 20 hp and 30 Nm more, the interior has been revised for better ergonomics, the counters are digital and you have all the GSR features like lane keep assist and blind spot warning. The three-cylinder now produces 280 hp along with 390 Nm and the power goes to all wheels.

It’s a matter of ‘creating a buzz about the prices of cars you won’t buy’, but it’s still a shame, because such good cars are becoming increasingly rare. Hopefully people are crazy enough to pay almost a ton for a little rally beast, then we’ll have a good second hand market when everything is electric.
