Bad news for Musk: ‘Tesla lays off nearly 14,000 workers’

The fact that Tesla is not doing well was already evident from the company’s stock price. Another bad sign was the suspension of the development of the affordable Tesla EV. Today there is an additional surprise: Reuters says Tesla will cut more than 10 percent of its workforce worldwide.

Reuters says it has seen an internal message announcing the layoff phase. “As we prepare the company for the next phase of growth, it is critical to look at every part of the business to reduce costs and improve productivity,” Musk said in a message to his employees. As part of this, Tesla is laying off more than 10 percent of its workforce.

Tesla has a total of 140,473 employees worldwide, of which around 14,000 will have to find new jobs. Musk has yet to respond to the reports via his X social network, but you can tell this can’t be delayed much longer. It wouldn’t be the first time Musk fired a large number of employees. When he bought X, then Twitter, one of his first moves was to lay off more than half the workforce.
