Two arrested on weapons and drug charges after teen jumps from car during stop – wgxa.tv

Two individuals were apprehended on weapons and narcotic offenses following an adolescent’s leap from an automobile during a traffic stop.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a deputy halted a vehicle for a traffic violation in the vicinity of the intersection of Highway 441 and Monroe-Walton County Line Rd. While the deputy was questioning the driver, the teenage passenger leapt out of the vehicle and fled.

The deputy quickly pursued the adolescent, who was subsequently detained. The deputy also conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered two handguns, a small quantity of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

The driver and the passenger were both taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two suspects remain in jail as they await trial.

Authorities from the Sheriff’s Office have emphasized the importance of exercising vigilance and caution when operating a motor vehicle, as such incidents can quickly escalate and result in the arrest of individuals on serious criminal charges.
