Two men have been charged with homicide in connection with the shooting death of a man outside a Fridley Cub Foods store.
The Anoka County Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday that 21-year-old Saif Ali and 23-year-old Yussef Ali, both of Minneapolis, have been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder in the death of 24-year-old Mohammed Osman.
According to the complaint, Saif Ali and Osman were involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot of the store on the morning of June 12. At some point, Saif Ali allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot Osman, who died at the scene. An investigation by the Fridley Police Department revealed that Yussef Ali had also been involved with the altercation and had fired multiple shots at Osman.
If convicted, Saif Ali and Yussef Ali could face up to 40 years in prison for the homicide.
The Anoka County Attorney’s Office has alleged that Saif Ali and Yussef Ali, both of Minneapolis, perpetrated a fatal shooting on June 12, outside a Fridley Cub Foods store. The accused, Saif Ali and Yussef Ali, are charged with second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder in the death of 24-year-old Mohammed Osman, as a result of a verbal altercation that escalated to gunfire. The Anoka County Attorney’s Office further alleges that Saif Ali discharged a firearm, resulting in Osman’s demise, and that Yussef Ali discharged multiple shots. If convicted, Saif and Yussef Ali are liable to be sentenced to up to 40 years in prison.
