The BrightDrop Zevo 600 electric distribution vehicle is being converted into an electric RV by starting to be called Grounded.

Known as the G2, this model costs $195,000 and looks every bit like a pickup truck. However, there are a few changes including roof branding and roof-mounted solar panels that have a capacity of up to 640 watts.

While the G2 won’t win any beauty contests, the interior is the star of the show as it has 615 square feet (57.1 square meters) of living space along with a classic design. As the company explained, buyers can choose from a library of modules and choose the location of each one. The modules are mounted on rails and this enables owners to add or remove them as they wish.

This is an interesting idea and Grounded showed a variety of beds, multi-seat arrangements, and dinettes – among other things. Although your imagination may run wild, the company said options include a queen bed and seating for up to seven. Customers also have access to Starlink internet connection, a “dry-flush” toilet, and a kitchen with a sink, stove and fridge/freezer.

The powertrain carries over from the Zevo 600 and this means the G2 has all-wheel drive as well as a 165 kWh battery pack that provides over 250 miles (402 km) of range. That being said, the Grounded adds an additional 10 kWh battery to power the interior. It can be charged from a car battery as well as solar panels.

CEO Sam Shapiro said, “We designed the G2 to be as simple as possible, and our custom interior delivers on the promise of an ever-improving RV interior. Over time, as your life changes and your usage patterns change, the vehicle can change. and you.

Deliveries are expected to begin this month and the company is accepting orders with a $1,000 refundable deposit.
