Tesla is recalling all Cybertrucks – stock found in low circulation

The bad news at Tesla doesn’t stop. The US electric car maker is now recalling about 4,000 of its “Cypertruck” electric pickups because the accelerator pedal can move and the vehicle can accelerate out of control. The problem came to light through a Tiktok video in which a driver reported his horrific experience.

On Monday evening, a Tiktok video caused negative headlines. A video that has been viewed millions of times and shows that a cover not on the Tesla Cybertruck electric car can block the accelerator pedal has alerted US transportation authorities. A spokesman for the authority said earlier this week that they were contacting the manufacturer for more information.

Now there is a recovery campaign. According to a recall notice published Friday by traffic regulator NHTSA, all 3,878 “network trucks” built between November and early April may be affected. It is also the first indication of how many new models Tesla will produce and sell. Electric pickups have been released since the end of November. The boss of the company Elon Musk said that after some time he could consider the annual delivery of about 250,000 “Cybertrucks”.

With its powerful batteries, the Cybertruck weighs almost three tons and has a body made of thick stainless steel. The car can also reach a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in just a few seconds. All this makes it especially dangerous in traffic if it accelerates uncontrollably. Tesla emphasized in the recall notice that cars can also be stopped with the brake pedal in this case – and that the company was not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the defect since the beginning of this week.

According to Tesla, the problem was caused by an unauthorized change in the manufacturing process: soap was used as oil – and its residue weakened the adhesive.
