Two hydrogen cars in the original WEC program in Business / FIA WEC

At the third round of the FIA WEC season at Spa-Francorchamps, Alpine’s H24 and Alpenglow are scheduled to make an exhibition shortly before the start of the race. As is known, hydrogen is very popular in ACO.

The FIA WEC will hold the third race of the 2024 season on May 11 at the Spa-Francorchamps track. Hypercars will compete for the overall victory. In the future (2026 or 2027), hydrogen cars should also come to the WEC. Similar principles have been in operation for a long time. To raise awareness of the hydrogen theme, there will be a demonstration of two hydrogen cars in the WEC race in Biasara.

On the one hand, this is Alpine Alpenglow. This impressive car will complete its first few meters in public at the Spa. H24 will also be in Business in the original WEC race program. The H24 emerged from a collaboration between Le Mans organizer ACO (Automobile Club de l’Ouest) and the H24Project.

In addition to H24, ACO and H24Project have already released LMPH2G under the name MissionH24. LMPH2G even participated in free practice for the Le Mans Cup. Soon there will be a third vehicle from MissionH24. This will be called H24EVO.

In the opening program of the Business, H24 is on the road again. Technically speaking, it has a fuel cell. Exciting: The Alpine Alpine Alpenglow, on the other hand, is powered by a hydrogen combustion engine. Both technologies should play a role if hydrogen cars enter the FIA WEC at some point in the future.
