The United Way of Greenwood recently presented its generous contributors with a special giveback event held to recognize their ongoing support.
The occasion celebrated the successful partnership between the Greenwood community and the United Way, which since its inception has provided invaluable aid to local residents in need.
The event featured a small gathering of the organization’s most generous donors and supporters, who were treated to a special reception and presentation of awards. Executive Director of the United Way of Greenwood, Tom Smith, spoke eloquently of the organization’s accomplishments and thanked its donors for their ongoing commitment.
“It’s been an extraordinary year for the United Way of Greenwood,” Smith said. “Our contributors have been instrumental in helping us make a real difference in the lives of so many people in our community.”
He went on to highlight some of the organization’s major accomplishments, including its successful launch of a literacy program for at-risk youth, an initiative to provide healthcare to uninsured families, and the establishment of a volunteer center to help coordinate the efforts of the many volunteers that make the United Way of Greenwood run.
The giveback event also included a special recognition of the organization’s top contributors. At the event, those who had donated the most to the cause were presented with awards in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
