Lotus Emeya price: does Lotus dare to make it more expensive than the Porsche Taycan?

Of Lotus Emeya no longer has much to do with the British sports car brand’s old ethos. Its weight is high and it has luxury options that the Lotus driver turns his nose up at. But that doesn’t have to be a problem, because the Emeya is one of the fastest electric cars on the market. With 905 hp, almost 1000 Nm of torque and a range of 610 km, the heavy super sedan competes with the Porsche Taycan.

Then you have to come from a good background and Emeya offers impressive statistics. The sprint to 100 km/h takes less than 3 seconds and the top speed is over 250 km/h. But in terms of range, Emeya is shouted by Taycan with a longer range: the German can travel up to 678 km.

It charges faster than the Porsche Taycan

Emeya is at least very fast at the charging station: fast charging is possible with no less than 350 kW, and provides an already large battery of 102 kWh for a range of 150 km after five minutes of charging. Charging from 10 to 80 percent takes just fifteen minutes. If fast chargers can handle this violence of course…

For his crushing load, Emeya even offers a new one Porsche Taycan (320 kW) check. After 5 minutes you have already added fuel and 150 kilometers of driving range. This makes the rest of the charge more of a pit stop.

But then the price. It looks like Lotus has taken a good look at its German competitor, because the Lotus Emeya and the Porsche Taycan are roughly the same price. With an entry price of 107,000 euros, the Taycan is not for everyone. But the Lotus goes further than the Emeya price at 109,685 euros. If you contact the government for a purchase subsidy, the counter will be closed immediately.

You can make it more colorful. The Lotus Emeya S, the most luxurious version of the ‘base’ model, costs 130,585 euros. For the top model, the Lotus Emeya R, you even pay 155,025 euros. The Lotus Emeya will come to the Netherlands in the third quarter of 2024. Until then you can start saving.
