UOKiK: 12 Renault Megane GrandCoupe for service

Entrepreneur Renault Polska Sp. z o. o. informed the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection that Renault Megane Renault Megane GrandCoupe cars manufactured in Karsan (Turkey) in the period from 27.07. until December 21, 2022, the oil return line to the engine compartment may be damaged (deleted) due to its incorrect installation on the production line of the car. This poses the risk of oil leakage and odor from the engine compartment, smoke and fire.

In the Polish market, the repair campaign covers 12 Renault Megane GrandCoupe cars.

The entrepreneur announced that car owners will be notified of the possible defect and invited to authorized service centers to inspect and correct the installation of the oil return pipe in the engine compartment.

This statement is the fulfillment of the duties of the entrepreneur, according to the role played in the business, mentioned in art. 14 sec. 2, art. 17 sec. 2 or art. 19 sec. 3 of Regulation (EU) 2018/858 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2018 on the authorization and market surveillance of vehicles and their trailers, and systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles, amending the Regulation ( EC ) No. 715 /2007 and (EC) No. 595/2009 and repealing Directive 2007/46/EC (OJ L 151 of June 14, 2018, p. 1).
