The successor to the Bugatti Chiron is coming soon! (2024)

Bugatti doesn’t launch a new model every day. In fact, since the takeover of the German Volkswagen Group, only two complete models have been launched, if we exclude derivatives such as Mistral or Bolide: Veyron in 2005 and Chiron in 2016.

The brand has informed our colleagues at Motor1 France through its spokesperson Nicole Auger that the successor to the Chiron will be presented in the middle of this year. However, Bugatti has not yet said anything about the type of engine under the hood. We know that it will still be a combustion engine, but not the iconic 8 liter W16. Others are betting on the V12 from the Lamborghini Revuelto, or the V8 from the German group’s shelves. But it could also be a completely new engine, possibly a hybrid, with an electric motor to take power to new heights.

Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti and Rimac, previously said that “we will be surprised” by the Chiron’s successor. The model is said to have a number of new features, including a “highly electrified” powertrain based on a “very impressive combustion engine”.

Bugatti has been working on the development of this new model since 2021, under the leadership of Frank Heyl, who has been responsible for the design of future Bugatti models since the departure of Achim Anscheidt. This upcoming model should feature an all-new chassis that will handle this hybrid powertrain and promises to be as unique as its predecessors, with very limited production. Last November, Mate Rimac was reported to have given assurances behind closed doors in Berlin.
