Used Volvo S80 I (1998-2006)? Yes, but you need a good mechanic

The fact is that many “S80” have already had great mileage, and the maintenance of this car – despite the good availability of spare parts – can turn out to be a bit of a problem.

Once upon a time, the S80 was a great car, offering plenty of space, comfort and good sound insulation. The other side of the coin is that wear and tear combined with advanced technology and a large electrical system mean the need to find a good Volvo mechanic. The weak points of the model include automatic gearboxes, the electrical system can cause problems, we also do not recommend the 2.9 V6 engine. A safe choice would be a 2.4 R5 engine, preferably a supercharged 2.5 (also R5). Diesel? If it doesn’t have astronomically high mileage, you might as well take a chance.

Recommended engines: 2.4, 2.5t, 2.4d

The style of the classic and the ability of a young timer, the rich equipment of many cars, several successful engines.

Many cars are in poor technical condition, equipment parts often do not work, other repairs are expensive.
