The works shown will be “Beyond the Horizon” by Hideki Yoshimoto/Tangentinstallation led by concept car LF-ZC (Lexus Future Zero-emission Catalyst) a new modern electric model that will allow driving very powerfully, with “8 minutes and 20 seconds” of Dutch solar designer Marjan van Aubel, where the common theme of the time reflects the progress made by Lexus in the design and manufacture of human-oriented vehicles.

With this installation, Marjan van Aubel demonstrates Lexus’ commitment to mobility innovation by collecting challenges of electricity and technologyaiming for carbon balance and high quality.

Imagine walking along it: four individual motion sensors make the light bounce and explode like water on the base of the installation, which represents the EV vehicle platform. At unexpected intervals, the installation comes alive in an ephemeral concert: the light descends like a high-pitched sound, reflecting the car’s movements in motion and giving a sense of the energy and fluidity of driving.. The work uses solar energy, thanks to the organic photovoltaic plates (OPV): the energy is stored in batteries connected and used to run the work exhibition which, in turn, creates the illusion of time passing , where the warm tones of the dawn give off. cool tone method. The installation also features the natural sounds of pianos, string instruments and music boxes, as well as chirping birds and bamboo plucking.

Named in reference to the time it takes for sunlight to reach Earth, “8 Minutes and 20 Seconds” is a three-dimensional interpretation of Lexus’ innovative electric design.which aims to push the boundaries of design and technology towards a zero-emission future.

At the same time, with his installation “Beyond the Horizon” designer Hideki Yoshimoto combines cutting-edge technology with ancient Japanese craftsmanship to create a large space with a series of two-meter tall sculptures. which, although they look the same, create unique plays of light to give the illusion of entering a different space. It is positioned at the center of the LF-ZC packaging, a symbol of the innovation and mobility of the future of Lexus.

Paying attention to the smallest details, combining tradition and innovation, the packaging includes a a large projection screen (4 meters by 30) whose material is inspired by the legacy of the old Echizen “washi” paper, known for the screens found in traditional Japanese homes.. In this case, it was made with bamboo fibers, recalling the presence of this sustainable material in the interior of the LF-ZC and recalling the famous craftsmanship of Lexus, which always keeps an eye on its precious Japanese heritage.. The screen shows a sequence of projections, from dawn to dusk, accompanied by an original and abstract soundscape created by music composer Keiichiro Shibuya.

Lexus has always challenged conventions in the luxury car industry, working to expand the scope of its products and services, to exceed the expectations of its customers. We have a strong human-centered philosophy and believe that by continuing to explore the relationship between people and time – the title of our exhibition – we will be inspired to create new and special experiences – and Simon Humphries, Lexus Chief Brand Officer
