The ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup is “powered by GSe” in the nella quarta stagione

L’ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup “powered by GSe” is gearing up for the start of its fourth season. 15 of Corsa Rally Electric 100 kW (136 HP) have been introduced in this year’s first edition, scheduled for 3 and 4 May at the ADAC Actronics Rally Sulingen (Lower Saxony). The field of participants in the first and only cup of the electric rally in the world is surprising for its nationality and diversity. Athletes from eight different nations are at the start. A total of ten new teams, including four pure women and several mixed teams, bring fresh air to electrifying competition.

Eight events in five countries: The ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup “powered by GSe” is off to a great start in its fourth season.

The French motoring association FFSA is once again using two Corsa Rally Electrics as part of its Youth Academy promotion program, which this year is owned by Emma Chalvin/Emy Ailloud-Perraud and Alizée Pottier/Joanna Verdier. Always within the scope of developing young talentsof the Royal Belgian Automobile Sports Association RACB, in collaboration with Opel Belgium, will bring one of the fastest electric cars to Lyssia Baudet/Pauline Denis. Also Steffe and co-pilot Nina Spitaler represent Austria, while German Ann Felke relies on the male co-pilot, Maximilian Kugler.

The ever-growing international interest in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup is also reflected in the commitments of the Netherlands and Spain. The Royal Netherlands Motor Sports Association (KNAF) uses the cup as a platform for a thorough investigation of young talent, where three youngsters will be used this season. 19-year-old Fabian Kamermans hails from Sulingen. The all-Spanish team will also be joined by an electric team from the Iberian Peninsula, with the help of Opel Spain.

As always, the Austrian group continues to be strong. And Alfred Kramer, Pia Steffe and Luca Pröglhöf, three drivers from the Alpine country are involved in the exciting conflict. Pröglhöf in particular has been one of the favourites, and not only since his first Cup race victory as part of the Central European Championship 2023. With big ambitions, Bendegúz Hangodi makes his first appearance in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup also used by Stohl Racing.

Besides Pröglhöf, the Germans Christian Lemke and Johannes Wittenbeck and the Alsatian Anthony Rott already have experience in the ADAC Opel Electric Cup And of course there is Timo Scheider. The 45-year-old DTM champion from 2008 and 2009 will make his second appearance in the Corsa Rally Electric at the ADAC Actronics Rallye Sulingen – and with great expectations.

“The positive development of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup continues into its fourth year. The number of participants is as impressive as the event calendar,” says Opel Motorsport boss Jörg Schrott. “International awareness of our project is constantly increasing. The interest from all over Europe shows that we are on the right track with our innovative concept. Unique development opportunities for our members also contribute to this. And Calle Carlberg and Timo Schulz, the 2023 and 2022 Cup champions will start this season in the European Youth Championship.
