A security video captured the moment a stolen Jeep crashed into a school bus in Rochester, New York, on Thursday morning, according to 13WHAM-TV.
The shocking footage, which has since been made public, shows the white Jeep Grand Cherokee veering off the roadway and colliding with the bus, which was at the time carrying middle school students.
The incident took place around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Portland Avenue. The Jeep was reportedly stolen from a nearby area just minutes before the crash.
Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, who viewed the footage, said the driver of the stolen vehicle was taken into custody shortly after the crash. The bus driver and the students aboard the bus were reportedly unharmed.
“Our hearts go out to the students who were on board and to their families,” Warren said. “No one should have to go through something like this, and I am glad no one was hurt.”
The Rochester Police Department is currently investigating the incident.

The Rochester Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the occurrence.
