Since it started in 2020, the Polestar 2 has reached a milestone by becoming the Swedish brand’s best-selling model, with a total of 150,000 units delivered in 26 markets around the world. The rise in these impressive numbers is all the more remarkable considering the short period since Polestar entered the competitive automotive segment, especially considering Tesla model 3one of its main competitors.

Looking to the future, Sweden is already planning a successor to the Polestar 2, expecting a launch that could take place in 2027. According to information given during an interview with Autocar by Thomas Ingenlath, the CEO of the company, this new model will be recognized as Polestar 7. This choice of nomenclature follows chronological logic, as the model will be positioned after the Polestar 6 super sports car, due in 2026.

Similar dimensions but different in style

For now, specifics about the features that will define the future Polestar 7 remain shrouded in mystery. Ingenlath, however, pointed out that the new model will maintain the same dimensions as the current Polestar 2, which is 4.61 meters long, 1.86 meters wide and 1.48 meters tall. Despite this, it cannot be ruled out that Polestar could choose a completely different stylistic approachesperhaps moving towards a coupĂ© design to improve the car’s aerodynamics and, therefore, its autonomy.

As for technical details, such as batteries and motors, it is still too early to go into details. However, Polestar can be expected to introduce a new generation of strength training, designed to provide more efficiency and performance than the current one. It is important to remember that, at the moment, the Polestar 2 is offered with 69 kWh and 82 kWh batteries, giving a power that varies between 272 HP and 476 HP; The Long Range Single Motor version, in particular, stands out for its autonomy of up to 654 km.
