Villorba Corse launches the Lamborghini Super Trofeo program

The multi-named team from Treviso is starting a new, prestigious GT project and for the first time will compete in one of the European series by presenting two Huracan ST Evo2.

Treviso. Villorba Corse is ready to launch a new, prestigious program that will see it as a protagonist for the first time in Lamborghini European Super Cup. In the 2023 season of the Casa del Toro flagship store, the Treviso team will line up. two Huracan ST Evo2 starting only with the continental series, which will also mark the return of the team to the international stages that they have attended for a long time and with success until 2021, but the project is multi-year and open to more events.

The first match of Villorba Corse in the series is expected to start the weekend of June 2-4 in Le Castellet on the circuit named after Paul Ricard, which hosts the first round of the season. In this event, the team led by Raimondo Amadio will be at the start with the first of two awaited GTs 5200cc and 620 horses from the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand, handed over to the French crew all created by Michael. Blankemain and Jim Plaready for the home match they will meet with goalkeeper number 92 and after they have already done the tests.

Born in 1980, Blanchemain is a “bronze” driver with a lot of experience in the French GT, but also in various European series and endurance races, as well as in the Asian Le Mans Series. Born in 1992, Pla worked first in karts at a very young age and then in single-seaters, until he established himself as a well-known figure in international GT competitions, in which he boasts several victories.

The Super Trofeo format is one of the most prestigious and successful one-brand stores on an international level with three continents involved. Through Villorba Corse we have decided to put our name and face on it for a long period that will make us grow in the series step by step. With ‘Mika’ and Jim we have already gone through several kilometers of testing in the last two months and the results in terms of compatibility and reliability are convincing. We have worked on everything down to the last detail to show ourselves at our best already in the first round and we are delighted to be able to confirm the arrival of the second car from the next round at Spa”.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe 2023 will take place over 6 appointments (for a total of 12 races) from 2-4 June in Le Castellet until the final round scheduled for November in Vallelunga after also touching the circuits of Spa, Nurburgring and Valencia. Vallelunga will also host the Grand Finals.

FOR Le Castellet, on the 5842 meters of the French track, the series opens the season on Thursday with a test day. Then the race weekend started on Friday with two free practice sessions at 10.10 and 16.10. Saturday June 2 qualifying is scheduled for 8.20 and early afternoon race 1which takes place on Saturday at 13.30. Sunday Race 2 to complete the first cycle in 2023 at 10.05.
