Volkswagen Touareg 2024. A light botox hit a very nice SUV

This is one of those cars that no one complains about. Although there are many complaints about the “boring” appearance of the Golf and Passat, the largest SUV of the brand from Wolfsburg always causes positive reactions. Not surprising though. After all, we are talking about a car with a very refined design, shared in part with cars like the Porsche Cayenne. Volkswagen Touareg 2024 it is the updated version of the third generation of this car. We looked at what has changed here.

Volkswagen Touareg 2024. Smart changes do not revolutionize this car

It is safe to say that this car is one of the dinosaurs of the market. In the face of a changing image of the brand, where electric vehicles play the first violin, the big diesel SUV is a sensation.

However, then keep it as long as possible, because we are talking about a car that offers a great price-to-product ratio. It is a big and comfortable car with powerful engines under the hood.

The facelift version got a slightly changed body style. First of all, the front apron was changed here, widening the grille and changing the shape of the bumper. It refers to the newest models of the brand and at the same time tries to visually “reduce” this car.

MATRIX LED lights, basic at the time of the premiere, were redesigned with LED strips stretching into the grill. In addition, their design has been improved by introducing 19,216 LEDs in each light matrixes. The result will be a full beam of light after dark, effectively cutting other vehicles and obstacles.

The same changes can be found at the back, where the lights (with a new light signature) are combined with an LED strip and an illuminated brand logo. Here, too, we find a modified bumper and slightly modified lenses.

There are only minor improvements in the cabin

Volkswagen has somewhat forgotten about this interior concept. The Innovision cockpit was supposed to be a success and standard in new models, and it ended up only in the Touareg and Phaeton of the second generation, which was never released on the market.

It’s a shame because it’s a great project. A large 17-inch screen is placed on the dashboard, thanks to which it creates a whole link with its line. The clocks are also hidden in it and do not look like a last minute hit.

Touareg 2024 got new interior colors and updated Innovision multimedia graphics (now equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto). There were also USB-C sockets and a new Dynaudio audio system with 730W power. Performance remains at the same high level here. The same can be said for a good finish.

The 2024 Volkswagen Touareg is available with V6, V6 and V6 engines

This is a true feeling in these times. Just when you were expecting another four-cylinder engine, Volkswagen stuck with its larger power units. Only the diesel V8 disappeared from the range, but we said goodbye to it 3 years ago.

So we can choose the standard diesel 3.0 V6 TDI, producing 231 or 286 hp, depending on the version. There is also a 3.0 TFSI V6 engine on offer, producing 335 hp.

Fans of plug-in hybrids will be interested in the Volkswagen Touareg R, which combines a 3.0 TFSI engine with an electric motor. Here, the total power is 462 hp.

Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Germans improved the air suspension settings and increased the stability of this car. Minor adjustments also made it easier to corner.
