In a few weeks, the Porsche 911 type 992, released in 2018, will be renewed and, on this occasion, will improve its version with a simple hybrid variant. In turn, the second generation of the Porsche Macan has taken the trend and become 100% electric.

A border that the Porsche 718 Boxster and Porsche 718 Cayman will also soon cross. But the electrification of the Porsche range will not end there.

On top of the offer, by 2027, a large 7-seater SUV, also 100% water, will take on the role of flagship.. Aimed at large families and clearly for the North American market such as China, this triumphant model, the older brother of the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupé, still carefully preserves its name.

Currently, according to sources, the project is internally called Porsche K1 or Porsche Landjet. But it doesn’t matter, says Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche, “this machine will not be considered as a “big” Cayenne but more like a sports and family model“. The first examples, which are still very much under wraps, are currently stretching their wheels on the brand’s test tracks in Weissach.

At the crossroads of the Range Rover Electric

Its shape will be at the crossroads between the silhouette of a large station wagon and that of an SUV coupe. Aerodynamics will be careful and lines will be clean. With this model, Porsche will see big things, its size will exceed 5 meters in length and its interior layout over three rows will be similar to that offered by the BMW X7. His target will be an electric Range Rover in a long version (also 7 seats) instead of a compact Rolls Royce Cullinan.

The technical basis will be the PPE platform shared by Audi and the duo of Porsche Macan Mk2 and Audi Q6 e-tron., which will house a large battery with a capacity of 100 kWh. Freedom should be around 700 km. The brand indicates that the 920 V type architecture will be there to fill the batteries very quickly.

And the question of the power of electrical machines, it should be around 700 hp at the entry level and go up to 1,000 hp for the top versions.. This new top of the range is logically part of the goal of making 80% of sales electric by 2030. Audi should get its future Q9 from this.
