Volkswagen Passat: the lineup is complete with a plug-in hybrid

The Volkswagen completes a new row Pass and new releases eHybrid powered by a plug-in hybrid. In Italy the price list begins from 54,700 euros and arrive at retailers scheduled for summer. Compared to other versions, eHybrids are less capable trunkwhich, to make room for the battery, has been reduced from 690/1,920 liters to 510/1,770 liters.

The Volkswagen Passat eHybrid and plug-in hybrid system—is offered in two versions: from 204 CV e 350 Nm or 272 CV and 400 Nm configuration is the same and includes 1.5 TSI and electric motor connected to the DQ400e evo gearbox; in the most powerful variant, the 1.5 TSI goes from 150 to 177 HP. The customer can also make this transition manually, with the possibility to choose between four driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport and Individual.

In the situation Eco the car remains in E Mode even under heavy acceleration, while the TSI engine only kicks in when fully loaded or when the battery is nearly flat. In modes Comfort o Sports or An individualthe customer can also directly activate the downshift through the accelerator pedal position, thereby starting the combustion engine.
