TURIN (ITALPRESS) – Opel turns the page with the new Grandland, the first car from the German company built on the Stellantis STLA Medium BEV platform. This allowed the installation of a flat battery pack with a power of up to 98 kWh, a new generation motor that will guarantee up to 700 kilometers of complete electric freedom. And at a public fast charging station, it will take just 26 minutes to charge the battery to 80%, equivalent to more than 500 kilometers more. It is not only a technical innovation, as the STLA Medium BEV platform is a blank canvas for designers, as there are no restrictions regarding space and overhangs. So the new Grandland is 173 mm long, 19 mm long and 64 mm wide, reaching a height of 4.65 meters. All this is combined with rims up to 20 inches and very square lines. The new logo illuminated by Intelli-Lux Pixel Matrix HD looks great, made up of more than 50,000 elements that, depending on the traffic situation, do not include high beams more accurately than the standard Matrix Light technology, providing a brighter and more uniform light. The 2,784 mm wheelbase and tall tailgate provide more space in the passenger compartment and in the trunk which has a load volume of up to 1,641 litres. Inside, the 16-inch central display is clearly visible, while behind the steering wheel is a large digital instrument panel that works in conjunction with the Intelli-HUD head-up display. The ergonomic AGR seats from Opel have a new comfort function, which significantly improves the adjustment of the back comfort with two pneumatic bags located on the buttons on the side of the backrest. Not only that, the seats also provide ventilation and massage for the driver. As usual, there is also the patented Intelli-Seat function in the front seats, a position that reduces pressure on the cockpit, and ensures exceptional comfort even during long journeys on the highway. All are covered in 100% recycled fabrics. In total, the Opel Grandland offers more than 35 liters of interior storage space: from the Pixel Box to the phone pockets on the backs of the front seats, to the large storage area under the center console, which also has 12V socket with electric version, also available Grandland Plug-in Hybrid which offers up to 85 km of autonomy and zero local emissions (WLTP1) and Opel Grandland Hybrid with 48 volt technology offers another exciting solution that gives the pleasure of driving by reducing at the same time consumption and CO2 emissions. There are numerous driver assistance systems on all versions, including In Crash Braking, a system that aims to help avoid secondary collisions in the event of an accident. The Intelli-Drive 2.0 system is also available on request, which integrates multiple electronic aids and combines them with semi-automatic lane change assistance and adaptive cruise control. If the destination path is free, the assistant guides the Opel Grandland to the desired path with small automatic movements. Furthermore, the proposed speed adjustment ensures that, if confirmed by the driver, the vehicle speed is reduced accordingly when a new speed limit is reached or increased to that limit. That’s why the new Opel Grandland is at the top of Opel’s SUV lineup, bringing a new level of electric freedom to Opel’s electrification strategy. photo: Stellantis press office (ITALPRESS). xb2/tvi/red 24-Apr-24 15:42
