Smart and sustainable travel

The test involved a series of BEVs intended for distribution operations in the Milan area. In addition to evaluating their performance in terms of reliability and transport efficiency, the tests also analyzed the benefits that these vehicles can bring in terms of environmental impact. According to the results obtained, their use guarantees a 50% reduction in CO2, fully in line with the goals set by the Group. The Volvo team assisted and supported DSV throughout the journey, providing advice and technical information relating to the vehicles tested.

“This initiative represents an ambitious and important step to gather valuable data and experience that will allow us to improve future implementation and ensure a sustainable path for us and our customers.” has commented Soeren Krejberg HansenExecutive Vice President at DSV Road: “The test with Volvo Trucks and the discussion with their management will help us lay the foundations for the development of an intelligent, ecological and fully connected transport system to achieve our global goal of zero emissions in our operations by 2050”.

The next stage of the DSV Road division involves the implementation of more than 300 BEVs between 2024 and 2025, up to 2,000 units by 2030. The further objective is to introduce other zero-emission vehicles as well as vehicles that use HVO fuel.

“We look forward to 2030, the year in which we aim to halve our CO2 emissions. A big goal that requires the adoption of various innovative technologies. Among the cleanest and most sustainable solutions we find biogas and HVO. But the real heart of our strategy is electricity, knowing that tomorrow we will also have hydrogen fuel cells. has announced Giovanni DattoliCEO of Volvo Trucks Italy. “To achieve sustainable goals, a joint and collective commitment is essential: we are committed to doing our part, but we believe that real change can only happen through the cooperation of everyone and the role of strategic partners like DSV is fundamental. Therefore, a strong commitment from politics and institutions is needed to create better conditions towards a more sustainable future.”
