High reliability even in old age: Volvo V40 impresses in TÜV Report 2023

The Volvo V40 is a defective dwarf: The 5-door hatchback is convincing in the current TÜV report with the lowest defect rate in its class. In the age group of cars up to 3 years old, only 3 percent of Swedish premium models were bad in the main inspection of the expert organization – the best value in this car class and age group.

Which is published every year in collaboration with Auto Bild magazine #FIRE The report takes into account the results of the main inspection (HU) carried out by all TÜV companies in Germany. In the period from July 2021 to June 2022, a total of more than 9 million vehicles were re-inspected and major and minor defects were determined – that is, the models with the most and the fewest defects.

The Volvo V40 convinces with a defect rate of 3.0 percent in its class. The five-door was the entry-level model in the Swedish car brand’s product portfolio from 2012 to 2019 and caused quite a stir when it was launched with the first compact sedan.
