Stellantis presents a previously unspecified Dodge Ram pickup plug-in in Las Vegas. The company announced this during its annual trade show in the desert city. The new Ramcharger should accelerate Dodge’s zero-emissions plans, reports Reuters.

“The new 2025 Ram 1500 brings our customers more power, more performance and more fuel efficiency,” said Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Dodge Ram. “Ram is designed to serve buyers everywhere.”

Market to take

According to Dodge, the American market is not yet ready for full electric pictures. Tesla, GM, Ford, Chevrolet and Rivian are fully committed to EVs, but GM and Ford have scaled back their production targets for electric trucks. Rivian raised its production forecast.

Fine

Stellantis is being fined for not meeting US emissions standards. The V8 engine is the main reason why the company remains at the top of the rankings. As a result, Dodge is introducing more sustainable alternatives such as hybrids. The company also previously announced that it will release an all-electric Ram Rev in 2024.

Stellantis executives say the hybrid model is an affordable and practical alternative to a full-electric model.
