Tesla Model Y, Long Range rear wheel drive arrives. 600 km of freedom

For Tesla Model Y the a new version of the Long Range with a single electric motor and rear-wheel drive. There have been talks for some time about the possibility that the carmaker may introduce this new variant of its electric SUV. Therefore, from today it will be possible to order this new model designed to provide maximum freedom.

Produced in Berlin-Brandenburg’s Gigafactory, the new rear-wheel drive Model Y Long Range definitely has all the features present in other electric SUV variants that we are already familiar with.

600 KM OF FREEDOM

An important feature of this new model is autonomy of 600 km according to the WLTP cycle. For the rear-wheel drive Model Y Long Range, the automaker advertises an energy consumption of (14.9 kWh/100 km).

So, this is 145 km more than the standard RWD, 67 km more than the Long Range Dual Motor and 86 km more freedom than the Performance. It is surprising, despite having only one electric motor, in the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h it takes one second less than the standard RWD with an LFP battery. In fact, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.9 seconds against 6.9 seconds for the “base” version. The maximum speed is always 217 km / h.

Price? In Italy the new rear-wheel drive Tesla Model Y Long Range is released Euro 48.990. Currently, a wait of 2-4 weeks is shown in the configurator. Now customers have more options and can choose the Model Y version that best suits their needs. The car manufacturer says:

The introduction of this new version is the result of our efforts to reduce costs through economies of scale and innovative solutions. It also supports Tesla’s mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.
