Hyundai Motor is announcing more details about the TUCSON facelift. With a more flexible design and expanded equipment, the Hyundai TUCSON (the car is not yet on sale. The utility values have not yet been determined) is entering the second half of its life: the revised SUV offers better connectivity and safety as well. along with the best drives that perfectly meet the different needs of the customers it fulfills. The revised TUCSON will be available to dealers in late spring.

Since its debut in 2004, Hyundai TUCSON has captured the hearts of European drivers. About 750,000 vehicles (as of March 2024) of the current fourth model generation coming off the assembly line at Hyundai’s Czech plant in Nošovice have already been produced and shipped to 60 countries. More than 158,000 units were sold in Europe in 2023 alone. Along with Spain and England, Germany is one of the most important European markets for this model.

Network optimization
With the TUCSON facelift, Hyundai wants to build on this success and has fitted it with the latest connectivity features. Two 12.3-inch panoramic displays in a futuristic and user-friendly curved design serve as control and display elements: the digital instrument display and the infotainment system create a networked and intuitive user interface. The perfect complement to this is the new head-up display, which displays all the necessary information in the natural field of vision of the driver – this reduces distraction to a minimum, which increases safety.

Thanks to over-the-air updates, software can be updated wirelessly and remotely. This means that TUCSON remains up-to-date even after delivery and benefits from the latest navigation and information features as well as on-demand features.

There are also multiple USB-C charging ports in the car. The standard makes it easier and faster to charge and transfer data for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Hyundai is also emphasizing its pioneering role in digital solutions and connectivity with the Digital Key 2.0 (UWB), which will be introduced later this year. Digital technology turns the smartphone into a car key that can not only be used to lock and unlock the TUCSON, but also start it – without holding the smartphone to the door handle or placing it on a wireless charging pad.

Advanced support systems
Like its predecessors, the TUCSON facelift offers an excellent level of safety. Hyundai has further expanded the comprehensive range of Smart Sense assistance systems to help the driver better in everyday life and detect more dangers earlier. If accidents cannot be completely avoided, their consequences will be greatly reduced.

Crosswind Assist, for example, increases driving stability in strong winds and high speeds and helps you stay on your lane.

A radar-based occupant alarm notifies the driver if motion is detected in the interior when exiting. This means that no children or pets are accidentally left in the car, which is very dangerous in bad weather conditions outside.

The intelligent front lighting system (IFS) improves visibility and brightness: The new matrix LED headlights ensure better illumination of the road without dazzling other road users.

Maximum effective operation
A wide and efficient range of drives is available for towing: the TUCSON runs with a combustion engine alone or with a 48-volt hybrid system, as a diesel, as a full hybrid (HEV) or as a plug-in hybrid. (PHEV). While the PHEV is currently only available with all-wheel drive, a front-wheel-drive hybrid version will also debut later this year. Combustion engine and HEV are also optionally available with all-wheel drive (vehicle not yet on sale. Utility values not yet determined). With this diversity, Hyundai offers different solutions for different customer needs.

The TUCSON plug-in hybrid also has the second generation of the Green Zone Driving Mode: Thanks to the ground fencing, the vehicle can travel electrically and therefore without internal pollution in specific environmental areas or areas located and emissions restrictions that are saved on the map – so that the occupants can enjoy driving with a clear conscience to travel without restrictions. The second generation also takes into account personally stored favorites, such as home address and driving history.

As a full hybrid and as a plug-in hybrid, the TUCSON also has an adjustable brake energy recovery system: In ECO mode, the driver can use the paddles on the steering wheel to adjust the level of recovery in three stages and thus find the best balance between the comfort of driving and fuel efficiency. The driver can also access the “AUTO” recovery mode known from Hyundai electric models, in which the recovery force depends, among other things, on the front drive.

Strong exterior design
The timeless, sporty and compact look of the SUV has been enhanced with new details: the newly designed bumpers at the front and rear and the new underrun protection are seamlessly integrated and ensure more dynamics and presence.

The front is decorated with the brand’s usual grille, which is made up of large daytime running lights. By retaining the semi-glass technology, in which a thin layer of metal is used inside the outer light lens, the lights are hidden and almost invisible when the engine is turned off.

The finishing touches are completed by newly designed light alloy wheels with four new color finishes: Cypress Green (mineral effect), Ecotronic Gray (mineral effect), Ultimate Red (metallic), and Sailing Blue (mineral effect).

Whoever chooses the TUCSON in the N Line sports equipment variant also benefits from an independent design that further emphasizes the car’s elegance: In addition to special 19-inch alloy rims, modified front and rear bumpers and a modified radiator grille as well. also used. The wheel arches and side moldings are in body color.

Upgraded interior
With the targeted improvement of the interior, the TUCSON also sets new standards in terms of comfort and driving experience, without neglecting the usual spaciousness and performance. The interior is designed almost completely – from the dashboard to the steering wheel and center console to the display. Every detail is tailored to the needs of the residents.

The new instrument panel follows a horizontal layout and includes an open storage compartment. Gear selection is now done using a shift lever on the steering wheel – this leaves more space between the front seats. Thanks to the available space, the armrest can be redesigned. A new color display for automatic climate control increases driving comfort. In addition to clean patterns, new fabric-leather combinations are available for seats.

Meanwhile, the sporty TUCSON N Line comes with a black fabric/leather interior as well as red decorative stitching and details such as a red ring around the start/stop button.

Information on Hyundai TUCSON Facelift prices and equipment options available in Germany will follow in the coming weeks.
