Nissan Qashqai, the overhaul is coming: this is how it changes. Android and Google get on board


Nissan Qashqai has been updated by updating its style as well as its technologies. The front end has been completely revised with a new front grille, made up of several three-dimensional glossy black elements and satin chrome details under the headlights, which in turn have been renewed with clearer lines. Narrow headlights, daytime running lights are made up of five small lenses that recall the elements of the grille. The rear bumper has also been redesigned: it is now in gloss black for the top versions of the range and in body color for the new N-Design variant.

Inside the passenger room fittings are more complete with materials decorated with the use of Alcantara, as well as leather and quilted eco-leather seats. For the first time, a multimedia system based on Android Automotive debuts for Nissan with the Qashqai, which makes all Google services available, with Google Maps that allows you to find your favorite places in the car and update the map. With the command of Hey Google you can control the ventilation system, seat heating and windshield heating.

Around View Monitor functionality in the center of the 2024 version

To make the new Qashqai safer, the Japanese company has improved some technological solutions. Among these is the Around View Monitor that provides the view from above the car on the main screen: it now has a 3D feature that selects one of 8 views to identify any invisible obstacles. In addition, the instrument screen behind the steering wheel has been changed, changing color according to the driving mode programmed by users: red in Sport, green in Eco and light gray in normal mode.

Additional levels of safety for more assisted driving

Security is enhanced with more responsive support systems. For example, automatic emergency braking that detects hazards more effectively and reacts more quickly. Every time the Qashqai is started, the lane departure warning is activated. The Driver Support Driver System is now also available on the Japanese crossover, which allows you to adjust the intervention of different technologies according to your driving style and can also memorize a user profile that will be remembered when starting the car.

All engines are proven including the innovative E-Power

However, all engines are confirmed: there is no diesel option, as already known, but only gasoline and electric ones. We start with a 1,300 cc mild hybrid 4 cylinder, available with two power of 140 or 158 hp. A more innovative version called E-Power has also been confirmed, a full hybrid variant that combines a 3-cylinder millecinque with an electric motor and a 1.85 kWh battery, for a total power of 190 hp. The new Nissan Qashqai will go on sale from September at prices yet to be announced.
