The various warranties offered by car manufacturers are always a very important aspect to consider when shopping, in order to have more peace of mind. Those buying a used car also benefit from paying attention to them, especially in the case of a recent model that would still be covered.
Which brands offer the best value in 2023? The same names keep coming back, as you’ll find out below, but before we move on, a few changes are worth highlighting.
Thanks to CAA-Quebec, which studies many defenses on the market every year to identify the most profitable and the least, we learn that Kia added a 3-year/60,000 km warranty to its model range.
When it comes to protecting the hybrid or electric system components of electric vehicles, Toyota chose to go from 5 years/100,000 km to 8 years/160,000 km, while Subaru increased its mileage limit from 130,000 to 160,000 km. So they’re putting themselves on par with Ford/Lincoln, General Motors, Honda/Acura, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi and Tesla, other companies that offer warranties on powertrain components as long as the battery.

Bad news for customers Buick : General Motors has decided to reduce the warranty of this high-end luxury brand to match its popular brands like Chevrolet and GMC. Whole Vehicle and Roadside Assistance were each reduced from 4 years/80,000 km to 3 years/60,000 km, while the Powertrain Warranty was reduced from 6 years/110,000 km to 5 years/100,000 km.
