At a time when electric driving has long become the new norm, Alfa Romeo has finally introduced its first electric model with the Milano. Alfa Romeo Milano is a small, electric SUV that embodies the passion and craftsmanship of the Italian brand, combining this with the latest technologies to provide a unique driving experience. With the Milano Elettrica, a platform and other technology that comes from the parent company Stellantis, Alfa Romeo shows that the Italian brand is ready for an electric future without losing its rich heritage.

A successful combination of design and performance

The Milano is not your average electric SUV; it offers a modern elegance with clear nods to the classic style that Alfa Romeo is known for. From the iconic “Trilobo” grille to the attractively curved wheel arches and flowing lines, every design element has been carefully considered to bring together power, sportiness and refinement. This results in a car that feels premium and approachable. With dimensions that make it compact but spacious inside, the 4.17 meter long Alfa Romeo Milano can accommodate five people. It also has a trunk with a large luggage compartment with a volume of 400 liters.

Buyers of the Alfa Romeo Milano Elettrica can choose from two electric powertrains, both driving the front wheels: the basic version with 115 kW (156 hp) and the more powerful Veloce version with no less than 176 kW (240 hp ). Depending on the version chosen, the Milano can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds. Thanks to its low weight and excellent weight distribution, the Milano offers a handling and driving experience that reflects Alfa Romeo’s reputation for fun of driving.

Technology combined with elegance and comfort

Milano is equipped with many modern technologies for comfort and convenience. The luxurious interior is crafted with Italian craftsmanship and features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, including navigation that focuses on charging stations on the route and current battery charge status. Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities, OTA updates, and a range of advanced safety systems emphasize the focus on a seamless and safe driving experience. The driver has its own display, beautifully hidden under the folds reminiscent of antique watches.

Range and charging speed Alfa Romeo Milano do not lead

With the Milano, the Italian car brand has not set a new standard in terms of range. The 54 kWh battery pack offers an excellent range of up to 410 kilometers (WLTP), but perhaps we would have expected more from the Italian brand. The Milano is definitely intended for use in urban environments and in that case the range is adequate and higher. There is uncertainty about payments. It looks like the Milano does not have a 11 kW 3-phase inverter as standard, but a 1 or 2-phase charging station. DC fast charging is possible at a maximum speed of 100 kW. That’s not leading, but luckily the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

Personalization of taste

With three available electronics packages – Techno, Premium, and Sport – the Milano offers a wide range of customization options. Whether you prioritize safety and technology, comfort and luxury, or sportiness, there’s a package to suit your needs. Each package adds unique features and benefits to the Milano, making it fully customizable to each driver’s personal preferences.

Introduction: Alfa Romeo Milano Speciale

As a major breakthrough, Alfa Romeo also presents the new Milano in an additional fully equipped Special Edition, which stands out with unique design features and an increased level of luxury and comfort. This style enhances the unique character of the Milano and provides a more unique driving experience.

With its upcoming launch, Alfa Romeo Milano marks a new era for the brand, seamlessly blending the tradition of Italian design and engineering with the future of electric driving. We are now awaiting pricing and availability details (early 2025?) but one thing is certain: the electric Alfa Romeo Milano Elettrica is ready to win the hearts of eco-conscious car enthusiasts.
