Attempto Racing is currently planning a return to the DTM and is in discussions about it. The operation would be done by Audi! But team boss Arkin Aka is not optimistic about the chance to return.
After ABT Sportsline switched from Audi to Lamborghini, it seemed that no Audi would start in the DTM in 2025. But will the team from near Hanover bring excitement and keep the brand and the four rings in the DTM for a little longer?
Attempto Racing team boss Arkin Aka confirmed to Motorsport-Total.com that a return to DTM and R8 LMS GT3 is currently being planned in principle and that the team is in discussions about this.
For Attempto Racing, this will be a return to the famous German racing series. The team participated in the DTM in 2022 and 2023, but was always in the shadow of other Audi teams and could not achieve any major success or top positions. Marius Zug’s fourth place in the 2022 season finale at Hockenheim, which took place in a much reduced field after a number of fatal crashes the day before, is the team’s best result in the DTM to date.
This year the team, which is based in Langenhagen directly at Hanover Airport, focuses on the international competition GT World Challenge Europe. The racing team competes in the popular SRO racing series with up to four Audi cars.
But how big a chance is there that Attempto Racing will compete in the DTM next year? With a “20 to 30 percent” chance, team boss Arkin Aka is not optimistic about the chances of a comeback.
