Before the Monaco Grand Prix, Williams had announced a partnership with Gulf Oil for special production. Finally, the car will not be changed for racing on the streets of the greats, but it will be much later in the season. The team will wear the revised display at Grand Prix events in Singapore, Suzuka in Japan and Bahrain.

Competition for fans

But the design of the car has not yet been decided. Williams will let his fans vote of the four Gulf liveries. This Friday at noon, the team revealed the first two models. Williams supporters will be able to vote in this “first round” for their favorite car.

Voting will end on June 4, to determine which design between “Bolder than Bold” and “Contemporary” will advance to the next round. The other two models will then be fully revealed on Monday, June 5, and will be voted on again by Williams fans.

Historical cooperation

Logan Sargeant and Alexander Albon will therefore drive the winning car of the competition from September 15 to October 8. The second “duel” will take place between “Vision” and “Legacy”.

Colors that will undoubtedly recall McLaren’s performance in Monaco during the 2021 edition. At that time Gulf was a sponsor of McLaren and was able to take the opportunity of this weekend to show their traditional colors. Since this 2023 season, Williams has been collaborating with an oil company, with which the relationship is becoming closer.

For several races, the Gulf logo has been present on the suits of Williams mechanics. The company had already expressed interest in presenting special events like this promotion.
