Tesla’s biggest competitor launches an electric car in the middle of Ferrari and Porsche

At the Beijing Motor Show, BYD, through its high-end Denza brand, is presenting a new 100% electric sedan that seems to be directly inspired by the Porsche Panamera, but which will instead focus on performance electric sedans at the level of up, starting with the Tesla Model S Plaid or the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.

Of course, this is a body that some people have probably forgotten. BYD, through its high-end Denza brand, is reviving the Bullet Train, a segment that today is only occupied by the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo or the familiar name Porsche Taycan. V12 fans of course remember the excellent FF from Ferrari, the Shooting Brake par excellence for some, or the GTC4 Lusso, the latest model in this segment within the Maranello company.

But there is no question of Ferrari today, although if the Italian company brought us such a model, surely the fans would be happy. Indeed, at the Beijing Motor Show, Denza presents the Z9 GTA very good shooting brake that reminds you of the models mentioned above.

The best of BYD in one car

This stroke of the pencil is not the result of chance or even of an AI that was asked to imitate an already existing model, as it is the work of the German designer, Wolfgang Josef Egger, the world director of design with BYD, which has actually gone through it. the house of Alfa Romeo, one of the leading brands in terms of design, but also with Audi and Lamborghini.

The Z9 GT is positioned as a segment D sedan in China (or segment E in Europe), with very generous dimensions, in this case a length of 5.18 meters, a width of 1.990 meters, and a height of 1.48 meters, all with a large wheelbase of 3.13 meters..

Technical information is still limited, starting with battery capacity and autonomy, but it is a safe bet that this model has a Blade LFP (lithium – metal – phosphate) battery.

BYD is still advertising 1 000 ch and 0 to 100 km/h in 2.0 seconds roughly, almost the same as the Tesla Model S Plaid or the new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
