Action. The first edition of the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa season will be played at Imola this weekend (19-21 April).

The main actor was announced Giuseppe Guirreri, at 17 years old among the youngest at the start of the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand. The Sicilian takes to the track at the Santerno circuit with the GG Motorsport team, a new reality that uses the technical support of LM High Performanceand it does so with a heavy burden of expectation.

The second season in his car and the first in the championship reserved for the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 of almost 620 hp. A great step forward in power awaits him in the context of more than 50 crews at the start of the FIA ​​WEC World Championship on the same weekend.

On the positive side, there is certainly the fact that Guirreri has already had the opportunity to test two days with his Lamborghini in Imola, two weeks ago (he had previously completed two other sessions in Cremona and Varano de’ Melegari). Moreover, the man from San Margherita already knows the Emilian track, which he raced, doing very well, in the last round of the 2023 Carrera Cup Italia.

Guirreri will present himself initially as a single operator in the main Pro class, aiming immediately to enter the top positions, but above all to complete as many kilometers as possible given the demanding calendar, which will later see him take over. the track at Spa-Francorchamps, Le Mans (the same weekend as the 24 Hours scheduled for mid-June), at the Nürburgring and then at another circuit he already knows like the one in Barcelona and finally at Jerez de La Frontera, which in November will host the Final Open World Lamborghini also for drivers involved in two parallel series held in Asia and North America.
