With the 1969 Dodge Charger, the Ringbrothers strike again with a bang

Once again they have not taken it easy in Ringbrothers. Although we previously reported on the amount of work the Pete brothers put into the car, now they have gone to another level. It took a total of 5,000 craft hours to bring this ambitious and unique project to life. And the result is certainly impressive: Ringbrothers once again show their best side with the 1969 Dodge Charger.

First a quick story about the car company itself. The company was founded in 2011 by brothers Jim and Mike Ring, with the name they hinted at in the first small part of their creation: Ringbrothers. Then the brothers quickly took a left turn and grew into a place where they create crazy and unique adaptations every year.

Good projects

They reveal their ambitious projects during the annual Sema Expo in Las Vegas. This year they present a 1961 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II called ‘Paramount’ and a 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible called ‘Uncaged’ and, yes, here it comes: a 1969 Dodge Charger called ‘Tusk’. We will take you briefly into the story of the car.

It’s not your average fix

This Tusk was designed by Gary Ragle Designs, which means this is not your average restomod. They have spared no expense or time here. This beast sits on a custom-built chassis with custom suspension, including soft front and rear shock absorbers. So those 5,000 hours of work were more than worth it.

Leipe motor

Of course, you’re probably curious what’s under the hood: a brutal Mopar 426 ‘Hellephant’ engine with a Bowler TREMEC T-56 Magnum manual. And that voice! A supercharged 7.0-liter V8 that produces a whopping 1,000 horsepower and 950 ft-lbs of torque. If that doesn’t excite you, well, we don’t know what will.

Special

The interior has been put together with great care by Steve Pearson of Upholstery Unlimited. The car features custom-made Dakota Digital instruments, Gentex interior glass with special paint treatment and a carbon fiber finish. The showpiece of the project is a glossy black color with gold accents and gold badging, both inside and out. In addition, the Ring brothers have outdone themselves by adding a Ringbrothers Murph gold steering wheel with a 3K carbon shell. And yes, your ears will also be pampered with incredible sound: the car is equipped with a JL sound system, so you can listen to your favorite music in high quality.
