New Dacia Spring. It will change a lot, but it will still be one of the cheapest cars of this type

Spring is a small crossover for the city (in Poland it was even offered in the car sharing service) and one of the cheapest electric cars (the current version costs from PLN 106,900). It is expected that the same price level will be maintained, because representatives of the Romanian brand ensure that Dacia Spring will remain the cheapest electric car in Europe. For comparison, the price list of the new Citroen e-C3 opens at more than PLN 110,000. zlotys.

Visually, the Spring will change a lot, to be similar to the new Duster, the next generation that was shown some time ago. The special features will be two pieces – one at the front with daytime running lights integrated with the brand logo, and at the back with “Y” shaped lights (also LED). Both stickers will also be decorated with photo motif stickers. New rims and colors have been introduced for different types (beige Safari and Red Brick). All chrome decorations and roof rails, which spoiled the aerodynamics, were removed from the body.

The interior is the biggest revolution. The dashboard has been redesigned. In the center is a 7-inch touchscreen (10-inch in higher trim levels) to operate the multimedia system. You can also see digital gauges on the front of the driver, which can be customized. The apartment will be more modern, it will no longer be dark and gloomy. There will also be new driving assistance systems familiar from the larger range.

The manufacturer is also proud of the capacity of the trunk, which will increase to 308 liters (with folded backrests – 1,004 liters). Additional storage compartments were also considered – one double in the cockpit and one additional under the hood (26 l).

New Dacia Spring – a few technical changes

Versions of the same engine will be available: 33 kW (45 HP) and 48 kW (65 HP), and the second option is more available (along with the Extreme equipment version, it will also appear in the medium Expression version). In this case, the “sprint” from 0 to 100 km / h will be 14 seconds. In the basic version, the acceleration will take about 20 seconds, but we are talking about a typical city car focused on economical driving.

The battery will have the same capacity as before (26.8 kWh). Due to its small size, the road weight of the car will not exceed 1 ton. The manufacturer claims that the range can be up to 220 km. In fact, it will be less than 200 km, but it will be enough for daily driving around the city.

How long will it take to charge? From a home socket about 11 hours (20-80%), and from a 7 kW wall box – 4 hours. A DC (direct) charger with a power of 30 kW, which will require an additional fee, will reduce the time of waiting up to 45 minutes (from 20 to 80%).

A little spring will also get practical work. This is a bi-directional V2L (car load) charging system that allows you to use the car as a power source to power other electrical devices (a special adapter provides a standard 220 V/16 A socket).
