Now Maserati is stepping into the breach – and claiming two honors for the GranCabrio Folgore: The space racer is the first electric convertible, and at the same time the fastest of all the top electric cars.

Folgore means lightning

The name Folgore means “electricity” in German and is attached to everything electric that Maserati offers. Before the electric GranCabrio, its closed counterpart, the Coupé GranTurismo Folgore, and the compact SUV Grecale Folgore have already made an electrified contribution to the model range.

The Folgore convertible, which weighs 2340 kg, is powered by a total of three electric motors, each of which produces 300 kW / 408 hp and, according to the calculation of the electric vehicle, brings to 560 kW / 761 hp in the work of together mode is even 610 kW/ 830 hp.

290 km/h top speed

A battery pack with a capacity of 92.5 kWh (83 kWh net) serves as energy storage. Charging is done using powerful 800 volt technology. If you dock at a properly optimized fast charging station, the battery will be charged at 270 kW. In 18 minutes, says Maserati, the charge level can be brought from 20 to 80 percent.

Warm air from the neck hair dryer

The GranCabrio Folgore can take four passengers with it, although they have to be quite irresponsible when it comes to luggage, since the trunk is only enough for 114 to 151 liters. of 50 km / h. Luxurious interior equipment includes a neck hair dryer, which improves the climate while driving by changing, even in cold weather.

A fast electric car from Modena will probably be launched this summer. Prices are not yet known. But if you consider the cost of GranTurismo Folgore – that is from 198,000 euros – you can guess that you should have at least 210,000 euros left for changing.
