Robert Matheney

An ongoing, multi-jurisdictional investigation into probation violations and drug distribution led to the arrest of three men on April 17, in Bollinger County. Those arrested face charges related to drug and weapons charges.

Cody Phillips

The arrests were made at the residence of Robert A. Matheney, who faces five counts of unlawful use of a weapon, one Class D count of unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held on an $80,000 bond.

David Bailey

Cody Phillips, who also lives at the residence, faces three counts of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

A third person, David Bailey, who was being investigated by the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office, was also at the residence. Bailey was taken into custody, according to a news release issued by Bollinger County Sheriff Casey A. Graham. Graham did not list charges against Bailey in the release, saying that an active federal warrant for a federal parole violation had been filed for his arrest. Federal court records show Bailey was on probation for a 2021 trial for being a felon in possession of a firearm. In that case, the girlfriend accused Bailey of punching her in the face and leaving the house with a gun, which she fired while still on the premises. At the time, he had convictions for theft and tampering with a vehicle, court documents say. Bailey has a long criminal history, including domestic violence, trespassing and theft convictions. Court records say that over the years he has intentionally damaged vehicles, including police cars. Bailey remains in the custody of the United States Marshals Service.
